Ryan J. Clarkson

MANAGING ATTORNEY

Mr. Clarkson is Managing Attorney of Clarkson Law Firm, P.C. Mr. Clarkson focuses his practice on consumer class actions and collective actions involving food misbranding, cosmetic mislabeling, defective pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices, illegal employment practices, as well as insurance bad faith. Prior to founding Clarkson Law Firm, P.C., Mr. Clarkson was a senior associate at a prominent Southern California class action firm where he exclusively litigated consumer class actions against pharmaceutical companies, insurance carriers, food manufacturers, and other consumer goods manufacturers.  Courts have certified Mr. Clarkson as class counsel in state-wide and nation-wide class action cases. He has resolved numerous matters on behalf of his clients with amounts in controversy exceeding tens of millions of dollars.

  • Fluoroquinolone Antibiotic Cases – Mr. Clarkson was the first plaintiff attorney in the country to represent clients in connection with permanent and disabling nerve damage caused by Levaquin, Cipro, and Avelox manufactured by Johnson & Johnson and Bayer Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Clarkson represents dozens of clients across the country.
  • Garcia v. Iovate et al., Santa Barbara Superior Court, Case No. 1402915 – Mr. Clarkson successfully intervened in this case on behalf of a class of consumers of the popular “Hydroxycut” weight loss supplement. Mr. Clarkson and co-counsel increased the size of the settlement by more than ten-fold to a total court-approved settlement value of $10 million.
  • Morales, et al vs. Kraft Foods Group, Inc.,S. District Court, Central District of California, Western Division, Case No. 2:14-cv- 04387-JAK-PJW – Mr. Clarkson served as lead class counsel in a California certified class action lawsuit against the world’s second largest food and beverage company for false advertising and mislabeling of food product as “natural.”

Shireen M. Clarkson

Ms. Clarkson is a shareholder at Clarkson Law Firm, P.C. and co-leads the firm’s class action litigation team. Ms. Clarkson has over a decade of experience as a civil litigator in California state and federal Courts. She is a staunch advocate of consumer rights.  She specializes in representing consumers and other individuals in class action lawsuits and other multi-party litigation involving false advertising, nutritional labeling, healthcare, telecommunications, unfair business practices, defective products, employment, mass torts, and pharmaceutical litigation. Ms. Clarkson has been actively involved as lead and co-lead counsel in numerous certified class action cases and other multi-party matters resulting in millions of dollars for consumers and employees seeking redress for financial harm caused by corporate wrongdoers. Ms. Clarkson also has vast experience representing public entities, private companies, and individuals in general business litigation.

  • California class action lawsuit against one of the largest multinational retailers and manufacturers of consumer goods for false advertising of consumer product (Gomez, et al. vs. Wal-Mart Stores., Los Angeles Superior Court, Case No. BC538639)
  • California class action lawsuit for false advertising of a consumer product sold by one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world (Perez-Pirio, et al. vs. The Procter & Gamble Company (Los Angeles Superior Court, Case No. BC485201)
  • Mesh/Sling Implant Multi-District Litigation – represented hundreds of women who underwent the vaginal mesh and/or sling implant surgery and experienced complications and injuries as a result.
  • In re: Actos Multi-District Litigation – involved in representing hundreds of patients throughout the country who were injured by use of the Actos medication, including those diagnosed with bladder cancer and severe cardiac events.
  • In re: Pradaxa Multi-District Litigation – litigated on behalf of hundreds of patients who experienced major internal bleeding events through use of the drug, Pradaxa.
  • In re: Nuvaring Multi-District Litigation – represented hundreds of clients throughout the country who were implanted with the popular birth control device, Nuvaring, and experienced blood clots, heart attacks and strokes as a result.

Bahar Sodaify

Ms. Sodaify is an Associate Attorney at Clarkson Law Firm, P.C. Ms. Sodaify focuses her practice on consumer class actions in the areas of food labeling, cosmetics, and other consumer products. Prior to joining Clarkson Law Firm, P.C., Ms. Sodaify was a litigation associate at a Southern California personal injury firm. Ms. Sodaify was actively involved at all stages of litigation and fought vigorously against insurance companies, multimillion dollar corporations, and government entities and helped recover millions of dollars for her clients. Ms. Sodaify dedicated a majority of her practice to preparing and attending hearings for minors who had been injured in an accident.

Ms. Sodaify is admitted to the State Bar of California as well as the bars of the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern, and Northern District of California.

Sarah Longalong

PARALEGAL

BIO

Ms. Longalong serves as Clarkson Law Firm’s senior legal support staff.  She received her undergraduate degree from California State University of Long Beach.  Ms. Longalong works with the attorneys, paralegals, support staff and law clerks at the firm to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the firm.  She is responsible for the supervision and training of legal support staff.  She coordinates and assists with all matters and litigations in the firm’s practice.  Her experience includes litigation at the state and federal level, assisting in complex civil cases and multi-district litigation.

Stephanie Satow

Ms. Satow is a certified paralegal as well as a California certified notary public, and assists the firm’s class action team. She received her undergraduate degree from University of California, Irvine. Ms. Satow specializes in consumer class actions and complex matters. She handles case criteria, fact investigation, legal research, client intake, discovery matters, and supports the attorneys at Clarkson Law Firm, P.C. in all aspects of deposition and trial. Her experience includes litigation at the state and federal level.

Brandon Mata

Mr. Mata is a law clerk at Clarkson Law Firm, P.C.  He is currently a third-year law student at Southwestern Law School where he serves as a member of the Southwestern Journal of International Law.  Prior to law school, Mr. Mata received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University of Long Beach.

Mr. Mata’s educational, work and personal background and experience has led to his strong interest in consumer protection.    His enthusiasm and general interest in consumer protection stems from his experience at the Attorney General’s Office where he learned first-hand how consumer protection was dealt with by the government as well as by private citizens. Mr. Mata understands that the government can only do so much to regulate business and protect consumers and that private citizens and the law firms that represent them are necessary to cover areas the government cannot, and to effectively protect consumers from unfair business practices.

Nina Trout

Ms. Trout is a law clerk at Clarkson Law Firm, P.C.  She is currently a third-year law student at Loyola Law School. She received an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in English, concentrating in World Literature and Spanish.

Ms. Trout previously clerked at the District Attorney’s office where she was exposed to all aspects of litigation and pre-litigation and has since found her passion in the law. Prior to her law school career, Ms. Trout was heavily involved in business development in the tech start-up industry.  This background has provided her with skills and knowledge which contribute to her nuanced understanding of business clients and varying litigation perspectives.
